In this session, the presenter provides details on three key ways to transform the typical monolingual approach to education. The presenter highlights ways to bring other languages and dialects of English into the classroom, involve bilingual/linguistically diverse parents, and encourage bilingualism, bidialectalism, and second language study throughout the school. Through these simple shifts, we can all increase social justice for our linguistically diverse students.

Key Take Away:
Participants will leave this session with three easy-to-implement ways to bring other languages or dialects into the classroom. This will be given through the presentation but also in a detailed handout with free online resources listed.
